What is Torico?

A cycle workshop dedicated to customer service, offering great advice and the opportunity to try before you buy. we are not just a faceless presence on the web. Come down to the shop and join us for thursday evening night rides or a mess about on our pump track.

Who are Torico

Torico was started by Ben Day. A keen cyclist who has been riding mountain bikes since the late 80s and competing since the early 90s. Nowadays as well as running the shop, Ben can be found at races behind his laptop making sure all is going smoothly. He also tries to race and ride as much as possible and has ridden his mountain bike in the alps, the santa cruz mountains of california, Spain and races all over the UK. 

Why Torico?

The Torico name comes from the Spanish for little bull. Some years ago the owner lived in Spain where running around town late at night with bulls on the prowl is a national passtime. The owner lived in the town square in Teruel that was named after the Little bull which is celebrated in the annual Vaquillas del Angel. The festival starts with a wine fight with a human pyramid being constructed to hang a red handkerchief to the torico in the town square. Six days later and after much consumption of wine the handkerchief is ceremonially removed from the Bull. We loved the festival and we loved the name so hence the name of the shop!
